Review: Charlotte Tilbury Light Wonder Foundation

Today we're diving into the foundation drawer and talking about one of my recent favourite finds: Charlotte Tilbury's Light Wonder Foundation. This product has been featured amongst bloggers, celebrities and beauty fanatics for a while now, all boasting about this foundation which pushed it right to the top of my wishlist.

When it comes to foundations, I usually tend to go for ones that have medium coverage as I like to have a good base. I was a little skeptical about trying a foundation that wouldn't cover as much as I'd like but I was been pleasantly surprised. The formula of this foundation is extremely light so it glides on the skin, making it extremely easy to apply. I find that it blends well and applies better with my fingers instead of a beauty blender (I like to use the beauty blender damp to set it after applying)

What I love about this foundation is that it's perfect for minimal make up days as it looks like your skin but better, as if you're glowing from within. It looks extremely natural on the skin. For someone who likes medium coverage, I actually found the coverage pretty decent. It covered redness and any scaring which are my two biggest problem areas, which was impressive. A little concealer and you're good to go!

Foundation coverage: Light to medium.
Price: £32. Although it's steep for a foundation I think it's definitely a product to invest in and one that's so versatile that you can use it day and night.
Colour range: 10 shades. There are both yellow and pink undertones. I currently have shade 7 which is a good match for NC35-NC40.
Favourite thing about this foundation? The glow. It gives a natural glow to the skin and I love how it makes your skin look.
Would you recommend this foundation? Yes. Light Wonder is a perfect base for those looking for a light and natural coverage.

Available at Charlotte Tilbury, Selfridges and Nordstrom.

Have you tried this foundation?
A xx

November Wishlist

We may be half way through the month but better late than never, right? I love creating these type of posts, mainly because it's a round up of things I'm currently coveting and I also enjoy reading what other people are into. Since the weather has been getting cold and christmas parties are just around the corner, I've rounded up some of my top wishlist products for the month. My personal favourites are the Becca Shimmering Skin Perfecter Palette, this Asos A-line white dress and these Asos black heels. What's on your wishlist this month?

Top 5 Beauty Shopping Websites

I find myself browsing through several websites daily looking at beauty products and new releases. I love reading blogs for reviews and updates on what's new in the market, but I also love browsing through shopping websites. Here's a breakdown of my favourite shopping destinations.

I mean, obvious right? The motherland of make up, you just can't go wrong with Sephora. I love that this website has several features which make what you're looking for extremely easy. You can view the best sellers in each category, read in depth reviews by customers about the products, and, my favourite feature, see photos of people who have used the product on the photoboard so you get an idea of how the product looks. Although it's annoying for us UK buyers to pay for tax, I think the exchange price makes up for it. My hands down favourite beauty website which is quite addicting, and I'm sure a lot of you will agree!

I guess you can say this is the British version of Sephora. I love shopping both in store in Space NK and online. They have a lot of good brands and they're always really helpful when it comes to giving samples and testers.

The Selfridges beauty hall is one of my favourite places to shop. It has a lot of brands, big and small, such as NYX which is the latest beauty brand to join the store. It can get a little bit hectic in store so that's why I love browsing through the beauty section of the Selfridges website. They also feature 'best sellers' and seasonal beauty trends which I find helpful.

I love that Cult Beauty feature a lot of brands all across the spectrum. They have brands such as Anastasia Beverly Hills which are exclusive to Cult Beauty as it's not available in a lot of other stores. I also find that they're blog is useful and fun to read, which features beauty bloggers and experts talking about products they love.

Net-a-Porter isn't your typical beauty destination. There's something extremely luxuroius about the beauty section on this website, it's almost as if the best beauty products have been filtered through and the best ones are featured. I also love their packaging when products are delivered.  Net-a Porter have a lot more beauty brands then you'd think so I'd definitely recommend checking them out.

I've included some of my favourite beauty products from these websites:

Urban Decay Smoky Eyes Palette

If you're into creating easy, fuss-free smokey eyes then this palette is one to look out for. I've been a fan of Urban Decay ever since I first picked up their naked palettes years ago, and they've been one of my favourite beauty brands since. I find their products to be extremely versatile, something that you won't find in other brands and can't duplicate easily.

The smoky eyes palette contains 9 brand new shades that have never been featured by Urban Decay before. For me, that was a big selling point because some popular colours have been used in palettes before. The shades are overall pretty neutral, with a couple of dark shades that are perfect 'smoky eye' colours. I like that this palette includes some good lighter matte colours and some shimmer shades to balance out the palette. My favourite shades are high, radar, smolder & whiskey.

What I love about this palette is that you can easily transform your look from day to night. The lighter eyeshadows are perfect for a neutral day time look, then you can also amp up your make up for the evening with the darker colours. The formula of these eyeshadows are long lasting and I haven't seen any fallout yet. Whenever I'm doing a smoky eye, I would recommend to do the eye make up first before the base to prevent any fall out and ruining the base products.

In comparison to the other naked palettes, I'd say the packaging and overall quality of the Smoky Eyes palette is pretty good. Although I do prefer some of warmer colours from the other palettes, I think this palette is ideal for a smokey eye. The packaging is also a hard case which is ideal to travel with. This palette and the naked 2 palette are my two my favourites.

The Smoky Eyes Palette is availble in the UK here (on sale!), here and here and in the US at my favourite place, Sephora.

Beauty Products To Try For Fall

Shown above: Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Lipstick, Kevyn Aucoin Sensual Skin Enhancer, Tarte Eyeshadow Palette, Too Faced Born This Way Foundation, Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette.

If you know me, you'll know that I always have new beauty products and launches on my radar. Today I'm sharing a few products that I think are worth trying out and will work perfectly for your autumnal beauty regime.

When it comes to Charlotte Tilbury, it's hard to go wrong. Every product I've tried from her collection I've loved, raved about and recommended. Her new Matte Revolution Lipsticks include several shades that are perfect for the season and will stay put throughout the day (top of my wishlist: Glastonberry.)

Kevyn Aucoin Sensual Skin Enhancer is a full coverage girl's dream come true. What I love about this product is that it's so versatile - you can use it as a foundation, concealer, or mix it with moisturiser to use it as a light base. Talking about bases, another one to look out for is the Too Faced Born This Way foundation. This has been raved about by many and there's a reason why. It's a medium but buildable coverage foundation which gives a subtle glow from within to the skin.

Tarte have brought out a couple of eyeshadow palettes but their Tartlette Palette has been highly successful. The matte eyeshadows are perfect for the colder months and are easy to use to transition from day to night beauty. The Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette is also a must have this season. It features three of their highly popular ambient lighting powders in a beautifully made palette which is perfect for travel. So, will you be trying any of these products for Fall?
