The Best Beauty Products of 2015

I really can't believe we're at the end of 2015 - it only seems like a few months ago that this year had begun and the excitement towards a fresh new year was on it's way. It's been a good year - lot's of ups and downs, but I think it's definitely important to be thankful for everything no matter what. Today I'm going to be talking about my top beauty products of 2015.
I personally love watching these on Youtube and reading about what other bloggers have featured. Click through on the names of the products to check them out for yourself!

This post is going to be a long one, so grab a cup of coffee and get comfortable because we're going to be talking in detail of each product and why it's made the cut of best beauty products of the year!

best beauty products of 2015, foundation, bronzer, charlotte tilbury bronze and glow, mac blush, mac velvet teddy, mac lip liner

MAKEUP

Best Foundation: Nars Sheer Glow

Nars Sheer Glow is hands down the best foundation for me. I've been wearing this for about 2 years now and I honestly can't recommend it enough. It's perfect for everyday wear as it's light but it can also be built up in coverage for the evenings. It has no SPF so it's perfect for photos and flash photography. If you want to read more about this foundation I've mentioned it here. Other ones I've loved throughout the year is Charlotte Tilbury Light Wonder (review here) and Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk

Best Bronzer: Benefit Hoola Bronzer

I can’t tell you when I first picked up this beautiful bronzer – it must’ve been back in 2010/2011 and it’s always been in my make up bag since. Whenever I’m talking about bronzers I always explain them by comparing it to Hoola – ‘it’s like hoola but a bit darker’ etc. It’s such a universal bronzer and the perfect contour for perfect cheekbones!

Best Contour/ Highlight Duo: Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze & Glow

The Bronze & Glow palette is one of my best beauty buys this year. Having heard so much about it I just believed it would be as amazing as the reviews were, and it really is. The bronze colour is perfect for contouring as it’s a warm brown shade and the highlight gives the most beautiful irresedescent pearly glow.

Best Blush: Mac Breath of Plum

I had never heard of this colour when I went into Mac on the search for a more plum / mauve blush. I tend to go for the same light pink hues and wasn’t totally sure this would suit but wow, it’s a beautiful colour. It adds a flush of colour to your cheeks as if you’ve got that just worked out look going on. I love the formula of it and it stays on all day.

Best Eyeshadow Palette: Mac Burgundy x 9

I recently got this eyeshadow palette but I haven’t been able to put it down. The 9 colours in this palette are my favourite tones of plums and browns which I like to use regularly. It has both light and darker shades so you can create a lot of looks. It also saves a lot of space when travelling to have 9 shadows with you on the go in a great compact!

Best Mascara: Lancome Hypnose Mascara

I'm not usually big on high end mascara's but this one is the best one I've had for a while. I usually go for L'oreal or Maybelline from the high street, which I still do use but when I want that extra length and volume I know I can count on this one to do the job. I highly recommend you try at least one mascara from Lancome, you won't be disapointed!

Best Lipstick: Mac Velvet Teddy

This was a really hard one to narrow down. Velvet Teddy is my most used lipstick of the year as I reach for it almost everyday.  I recommend this to anyone looking for a nude lipstick that doesn’t wash out your lips and gives you the look of a fuller pout.

Best Lip Liner: Mac Lip Liner in Spice & Morning Coffee, Charlotte Tilbury Lip Liner in Pillow Talk

I found it too difficult to pick just one lipliner so I managed to narrow it down to three (ridiculous, I know.) Spice is a very your lips but better shade and looks the most natural out of all of the lip liners when overland and filled in. Morning Coffee is similar to Spice but is a little more deep and plum, and it's a long wearing product which means it stays on the lips for longer. Pillow Talk is my everyday go-to, the formula goes on extremely smooth and gives me a natural look when used all over.  It's a perfect everyday nude that I love wearing out as I don't have to worry about touching up or reapplying!

Best Lipgloss: Bobbi Brown Lipgloss in Petal

I picked up this lip gloss earlier this year from Sephora thanks to a recommendation from Julia from Gal Meets Glam as she mentioned it in one of her beauty posts. I love this colour all year round as it's the perfect light nude shade that matches nude or berry lipsticks.

  1. I really want to try out the Nars sheer glow but I'm afraid my oily skin won't like it! Definitely agree with Hoola, I don't know what I would do without that bronzer! Velvet Teddy is a favourite of mine too :) Such a perfect shade.
