My Personal Goals For 2016 | Lifestyle

I’ve read a couple of these posts at the beginning of the year and I love reading about other people’s motivation and inspiration. As we brought in the new year I took some time to reflect back on 2015 and think about what my goals are going to be for the new year. I wasn’t sure about posting this as I don’t really talk ‘personal’ here on the blog but I think it’s relatable and I always learn from what others have to say. That being said, I hope this post inspires you and let’s talk about some goals I have for 2016.

Eat Healthier – I think this may be on everyone’s ‘personal goals’ I’ve seen, and theres a reason for that after the end of last year where we spent days over-indulding! This isn’t something I plan to do for a short while but rather make eating healthier as part of my daily lifestyle throughout the year. I believe in everything in moderation and not stopping yourself from having something you want but being mindful of it and not going over the top.

Work With New Brands – As I’m taking my blog Style and Social into a more refined space of beauty and lifestyle I want to incorporate some fun content with new brands.  I always try to improve and create the best content I can and I would love to feature new brands and styles on my blog.

Work Out More – Working out more was one of my goals for 2015 and I’m really happy with how much I’ve grown to love it, and this year I want to take it one step ahead. Last year I tried a lot of new fitness classes like spinning which I loved, so I definitely want to keep that up and try other classes too.

Worry Less –  I can be a worrier when it comes down to things, I sometimes like to think it’s down to being a Virgo but it’s also something I want to work on. Sometimes worrying over small and insignificant things isn’t worth the stress and agitation and it’s better to let it go and let things flow.

Grow My Social Media Platforms – I love using social media, especially Instagram and I would love to grow my social media platforms organically. I think people can get tied up in numbers rather than focusing on gathering real readers and people interested in you which is what I aim to do.

Read More – Whether this is reading the news every morning or picking up a book before a holiday, I want to read more and incorporate new ideas and reading into my daily life. I love reading inspirational books and autobiographies where I can learn so I’m definitely going to be looking into getting more.

Get a New Hobby – Last year I invested a lot of my time into fitness and found a new love for kickboxing and fitness in general. Although I’m going to keep that up, I want to find a new hobby that I can spend time doing. Having a blog full time can be hard work but I also like to challenge myself and invest time into other things.

Succeed In What I Do - This is different for everyone, but there's no better feeling than knowing you've done the best you can and the results are showing. I went to University for Writing and Journalism and I love nothing more than incorporating that into my everyday life. Succeeding in what I do covers a lot of matters whether this is my blog, friendships, job or relationships - I want to succeed in make it worthwhile.

If you’re looking for more inspiration I have a Pinterest board specifically for that. I hope this year brings you everything you want and more and that you've enjoyed reading this post. You can keep ip with more of my blog content here. What are some of your personal goals? A xx

Winter Whites | Topshop, Asos & Selfridges

White isn't the colour that typically comes to mind when we're thinking of Winter. In many ways, it makes sense to associate this colour with the colder months - the snow, the clouds replacing the sun and the general lighter aesthetic of the weather. But in Winter, we tend to reach for darker colours and save our lighter colours for the summer. I've compiled a list of Winter Whites that you can incorporate into your daily lifestyle.

I love this white crisp shirt, it would look stunning paired with some jeans and heels or a high waisted skirt and boots. It also goes well with this Olivia Burton watch which is highly coveted by fashion bloggers these days. I'm thinking of getting this white playsuit (it's on sale!) as it would look good dressed up in the winter and dressed down in the summer. What do you think of these Winter Whites?

7 Winter Skin Care Essentials

With Winter weather in full force it's inevitable we feel a bit down and sluggish around this time of year. No matter how we're feeling on the inside, a good way to keep up our health and balance is to make sure we're taking good care of ourselves. One way of doing this is paying extra attention to your skin care and drinking lots of water, and trust me your skin will thank you later.

1. A good cleanser is a great way to keep your skin feeling hydrated and fresh. This Works 5-in-1 cleanser is great at bringing the moisture back to your skin and have you feeling fresh in no time.

2. The Perricone MD No Blush Blush is a breakthrough beauty item and it delivers. It gives the most natural finish to the cheeks leaving your skin looking fresh and youthful.

3. Facial mists are great to keep in your handbag around this time of year if you're skin's feeling a little dull. I like this Caudalie one as it has a lovely fresh scent and gives my skin hydration on the go. I always have this one with me when I travel.

4. This Eve Lom Kiss Mix is a great lip balm if you're lips are feeling a little dry and chapped due to the weather. This luxury item moisturisers and repairs lips leaving them smooth and hydrated.

5. A lot of us will be wishing we're away somewhere sunny around this time of year, so there's no harm in giving a little glow to our skin with this self tan. I love James Read products and I highly recommend the dry tan body and self tan.

6. I swear by facial oils, especially this clarins one. I love the feel and texture of putting on an oil, which I recommend using at night so that my skin soaks it up when I sleep and I wake up feeling extra rejuvenated.

7. A good mask is a must have on your top beauty shelf. This clay mask by Charlotte Tilbury is a great way of getting rid of any toxins or impurities on your skin, leaving your skin looking hydrated and glowy.

What are your skin care essentials?

Mac X Ellie Goulding Collection

mac limited edition, mac collection, mac ellie goulding, mac bronzer, mac lipstick,

Mac collections are my all time favourite beauty launches.

As a brand they really captivate new ideas and get creative with their collaborations. This Mac Ellie Goulding collection is one of my favourite ones Mac have brought out in 2015 as I think the colours are perfect for everyday unlike some of their more eccentric collections.

The Mac X Ellie Goulding collection features 2 lipsticks, 2 lip crayons, lipgloss, eyeshadow and face palettes, bronzer and blush duo, eyeliner, mascara and eyelashes. My favourite limited edition products from this collection are definitely the two shades of lipstick and the bronzer and blush duo. If you’ve never tried a bronzer from Mac before I would recommend starting with this duo because it’s a warm bronze tone with a light pink blush that’s perfect for everyday use. For reference, it’s similar to Mac bronze which is one of their most popular bronzer shades.

This collection features a lot of nude, pink and neutral hues. These are the colours I tend to reach for the most so I was extremely excited when deciding what to try. The collection is available online at Mac Cosmetics - if you're interested I would definitely be quick to check out the collection as Mac Limited Edition products sell out fast!

Will you be trying anything from this collection? What's your favourite part of the collection? A xx
